:: 1301 Hillborn Avenue

ENGINE 16 RUNS MUTUAL AID STRUCTURE FIRE

January 17 - At 2252 hrs, West Ridge was dispatched for an engine company assist to West Lake FD for a structure fire at 1301 Hillborn Avenue. Engine 16 responded with a crew of 4 and arrived on location minutes later. As E-16 was approaching the scene, the fire and smoke was visible from blocks away. E-16 hit the hydrant at West 13th and Lowell and dropped 500 feet of 5" supply line into the scene and connected the line to Engine 4 from West Lake. The crew from 16 stood fast on the fire grounds per Chief 480 (West Lake Command); 16's crew was not needed in suppression operations. West Ridge operated on location for about 2 hours. The people who were home at the time suffered severe burns and were transported via Millcreek Paramedics to a local trauma center command.
