11/29/2004 - West Ridge MVA with Entrapment

:: Route 20 and Millfair

November 29 - At 3:37pm, units were dispatched to Route 20 and Millfair for a MVA. Millcreek Township PD arrived on location and reported one person entrapped. Chief 463 arrived on location and confirmed one patient that was entrapped. Engine 17 arrived on location with a crew of 4 and immediately pulled the Phoenix tool from the E17 and went to work. Chief 463 also special called for Rescue 1 from West Lake FD to assist with rescue operations. Both E17 and R1 assisted in removing both passengar doors and then rolling the roof back. After this was accomplished, the patient was extricated from the vehicle, loaded onto the strecther and transported to the trauma center. The patient was entrapped for about 30 minutes. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the wreck.
