:: 7th Avenue at 17th Street

Thursday evening at approximately 5:00pm a fire broke out in a Sheetz convience store at the busy corner of 17th Street and 7th Ave in Altoona Pa. The fire began behind a large cooler and expanded rapidly destroying the store.

The Altoona fire marshal believes the fire to be of electrical nature and is continuing the investigation while crews were on scene this morning tearing down what was left of the store due to the potential of a collapse. Sheetz convience stores started in Altoona Pa, and said they will replace the store as soon as possible.
