Diner Fire In Hampden Township

January 10- Units from Company 30 (Hampden), 37 (US Navy), 12 (Lower Allen), 22 (Shiremanstown), and 14 (Camp Hill) responded to the 3400 block of Simpson Ferry Rd at the Camp Hill Diner for reported fire in the ceiling. Companies arrived on the scene and after a brief interior attack members were evacuated as conditions deteriorated rapidly. Command 30 requested assistance from Companies 13 (Lemoyne), 27 (Mechanicsburg), Rescue 69 (York Co), Truck 8 (Mechanicsburg), Traffic 31(Silver Spring). Firefighters had the blaze under control at 1825 hours. Engine 25 (Monroe Twp) was special called for their CAFS. Units remained on the scene until 2100 hours. This was the second fire to hit the diner in 4 years. A March 2001 blaze extensively damaged the building. Also in 1991, it was also severly damaged by fire when it was the Rax Restaurant.
