11/18/2005 - Monessen - Bowling Alley Fire

Donner Avenue

November 18th approx 1:30 am a massive fast moving blaze destroyed a local landmark, the Star Bowling Lanes, on Donner Ave in the heart of downtown Monessen. It had recently been remodeled and reopened by the owner. Over 100 firefighters from all over the Mon Valley responded to the scene and kept damage to the bowling lanes and home next door which has heavy exterior damage. The firefighters prevented an entire city block from going up. Good work Guy & Gals.

As you can see from the pictures not much is left of the lanes and the fire is under investigation of state fire marshals office.
