09/02/2005 - Liberty Borough - Pump Detail

Liberty Station 183 was dispatched for a major water main break at a residence. When Rescue 183 arrived on scene command requested Lincoln Engine 184 to the scene and Port Vue 237 standby in station. Water was approximately 5 foot deep in the driveway and in the basement. Squad 237 was requested to the scene with manpower shortly after Engine 184 arrived on scene. Elizabeth Twp EMS and Liberty PD were also on scene.

Engine 183-2 hooked up hard suction and pumped some, and then a portable pump was setup. The water company arrived on scene to shutoff the water and the electric company shutoff the electric to the house.

Crews remained on scene until the house was pretty empty of water and then turned the residence over to the water company and police. Unfortunately for the owners, this same house had the same problem less than a month ago.
