- Penn Hills - Residential Structure Fire
Conestoga Street
A fire broke out approx 10:15 PM on 7/26/05 in
the 100 block of Conestoga Street off Frankstown Road in a residence of an elderly
couple in the Eastwood section of Penn Hills. They tried to put out a fire that
was started when a light bulb in an upstairs bedroom fixture exploded and they
caught sparks from the bulb in a blanket.
The elderly women was tempoarily trapped
and was rescued and treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. The fire scene
described on the Penn Hills fire radio as being an unstable structure and full
of debris, presented problems as firefighters attempted to put out the flames.
Stations
221,225,227 responded and fire marshal Jack Mason CFI is investigating.
