05/31/2005 - City of Pittsburgh - Residential Structure Fire

Beechview - Traymore Street

Imagine being a dedicated, hard-working profesional firefighter for over 30 years and thinking about retiring some day. After all the fire, the tragedies, and rescues only to find out the call you are running to is your own brother-in-law's home. Neighbors describe the brother-in-law as the salt of the earth type of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. Everyone knows and loves him, but he has had an unfortunate string of events with his health and age catching up with him to now lose his home and everything because his health has prevented him from being able to afford fire insurance .

Its not a fictional story but an unfortunate true one that happened today in the City of Pittsburgh's Beechview community along Traymore street which runs off Sebring Ave. that brought firefighters from all over the south area of the city.
