05/23/2005 - Munhall Borough - Storm Damage

Multiple Locations in Munhall

Munhall Borough was rocked by a severe thunderstorm on Monday, May 23rd. Several people reported seeing funnel and swirling clouds in the air. Official weather reports reported that the area was hit with a microburst.

Munhall Bureau of Fire companies were dispatched for multiple trees and wires down throughout their district along with reportable damage to many vehicles and homes. Gigantic pine trees were uprooted, electrical services were ripped off homes, a statue of an angel lost its wings and head, and a row boat on a trailer went sailing between 2 homes busting out windows and damaging vehicles. In all, the fire companies responded to over 40 addresses. Deputy Chief 775-C2 had command setup on Martha Street.
