05/03/2005 - Kiski Twp - Two Mobile
Home Fires
Radio Station Road
A late evening fire along
Radio Station Rd in Kiski Twp, Armstrong County broke out in one trailer occupied
by Don & Jenny
Orris, the care takers for the trailer court property, which possibly caused
a 2nd trailer to catch fire 50 feet away due to a power spike. The power spike
may have been recorded on transmitter equipment across the road at WAVL 910 AM,
a religous station where this corespondant works as the contract broadcast engineer.
Picture T4 shows the VSR and lightning leds are lit, which has been offered to
investigators working the scene.
The fire in the Orris trailer is believed to
have started in a window air conditioner. Departments from Kiski Twp and Apollo
responded. The Orris' were able to get themselves and 2 children and family dog
out safely but lost their family cat in the fire. This is the latest in a series
of incidents in the trailer court including a break in attempt at WAVL and the
arrest of tennants in the park on cocaine charges. 2 other trailers in the park
were recently removed.
The family has insurance on the trailer but not the contents and could us our
readers help, please contact Jenny Orris' Parents Mr and Mrs. Waner at 724-567-1174
if you can help with material donations to refurbish their new home.
