This Monessen house fire started when an elderly woman was remodeling her kitchen floor while using a heat gun and a cleaning solvent. She managed to escape the fire by jumping from a rear porch in the rear of the structure unharmed. The house was fully involved when the first engine arrived on scene. The structure was completely gutted. Firefighters from both Monessen companies, Washington Township Fayette County, and Carroll Township Washington county were at the scene. No one was injured. Charleroi and Webster - Rostraver #1 were on stand by in both Monessen stations.
