Beginning of a Fire

By: Nick Markowitz Jr.
Fire Investigator –Electrical Contractor

This picture is of an electrical receptacle at my dentist office in monroeville. He did the right thing by calling. He had a problem every time he went to use his microwave of lights blinking etc. I used my portable heat gun and tracked down the problem to this outlet which you can see has started to melt down and would have caused a fire. A small refrigerator was plugged into this circuit and a fire could have happened overnight. The cause was a loose screw on the outlet.
